Zombies!

July 5, 2014MichelleHow-To1 comment

I have had questions in the past about my zombie flesh methods. Well, here is a quick overview!

First things first! White Primer.

GW makes a shade called Reikland Flesh. I mop it on over the required areas. I go overboard just a bit to make sure I get all the small niches in the sculpt.

After the first layer is completely dry I add a lighter layer of athonian camoshade. Be careful on this step. If it gets too thick, the green will be too prominent.

Next step I took was to brown liner everything that wasn’t skin. This was partially to better photographs of the effect and also to provide a base for the clothes later.

Next step I used reaper’s bloodless skin over the boils. I made sure it was thinned at a 2:1 ratio of paint to water. This will leave a bit of transparency.

Looking pretty gross right? Well, let’s add a bit of GW’s carroburg crimson shade on the boils!

Ick. I will go back in and clean up the details. Maybe add a highlight to the boils. That could be fun.

Happy zombie painting!!
