Every year I make the pilgrimage to the Reaper Miniatures in-house convention (Reapercon). It is 4 days of relaxation, painting and friends. Not just friends, but extended family. This convention is a true home away from home and always a true joy.
One of the events I stress over and prep for is the competition. The competition is an open format.That means you can enter as many miniatures as you want, but they only judge what they consider your best work in a given category.
I always enter into as many categories as possible. However, this year’s entries just happened to work out that way. I took a different approach this time around. I painted what I wanted and not what I thought would win. I was completely thrilled with the results.
